VMX with modul8

Hi, I'm having trouble maping my VMX with modul8. I'm finding it hard to make the board select the clip i want then  place a filter on it. Also there does not seem to be enough keys for the amount of things on the program. Does anyone have a map that i can work from.

At the risk of sounding like a dumb ass as well. What do the dip switches do? What does latch mean?

Ta, Boil

Re: VMX with modul8

Hi,
the dip switch is used to go from a software MIDI configuration to another software MIDI configuration. Once you have the dip switch set for a software, it is useless unless you change software.
Page 23 of the manual, at the bottom : "When the selector is ON, buttons will be latch : pushing a button will invert the state of the buttons and will send a opposite message type (0 will be sent if previous message sent was 127, 127 will be sent if previous value was 0). When the selector is OFF, buttons will be without latch ; pushing on a switch will send a type on message (127) and releasing the button will send a type off message (0)." It is hard to explain with words ... The best way to see what is happening is looking with a MIDI monitor.
We will try to find a usable map working with M8. There are keys missing to map everything on M8, but the point is not map everything but most of the parts of the software you use.

jacques

Thanks allot for that man, it's cleared up a few things. If you could send me a map that would be much appreciated.

Thanks again, Boil

Re: VMX with modul8

Hi,
here are a few possible mappings. It does not cover all M8 possiblies but the mains ones. It will be up to you to bind what effect you often use.
- the 4x5 buttons matrix on the left bottom can be used to trigger the video clips ( media set )
- the 8x1 radio buttons below faders on the left can be uses for decks
- the 2x5 buttons with LED can be used to trigger layers
- the faders can be used for speed, X Y Z size, color R G B ( using 8 faders )
- the rotary potentiometers can be used for X Y Z rotate , but mainly here you will bind the effects you often use
- for the jogs, download and use the special modul for th VMX VJ
